Carolina Pixel

Carolina was born on February 1, 1991 in the state of Brandenburg and grew up in the small town of Rathenow, in the suburbs of Berlin. Carolina was surrounded by nature from an early age. The many lakes, forests and especially the Havelland had an early influence on her creative and personal development and shaped her artistic existence.

At first Carolina lived a more “normal” life! Live like most people do at the beginning of their lives. After kindergarten, elementary school and finally high school, she dedicated herself to photography and studied photography and motion design at the University of Europe in Berlin.

After 4 years, the studies no longer did justice to Carolina's creative development, as she became more practically oriented and started painting in order to design her own sets for her photography. What initially served as a way to escape the digital world and the more theoretical studies became Carolina's calling from that point on.

When she then finished her studies, she was able to fully develop in the analogue and artistic world. The camera gave way to the screen. What was already apparent in childhood became more and more manifest and she traveled to many countries, lived in America for 3 years and finally returned to Berlin from New Zealand,

pregnant with her first son.

After the birth of her son Lio and the corona pandemic, Carolina wanted to travel the world again. She particularly missed the sea, so she began to bring the sea to her by filling several canvases with life.

When she finally shared her art on Instagram and more and more people were amazed by the waves and surf on her canvases, she decided to bring the sea into all apartments and houses in the world and sell her paintings.

Since 2022 she has lived with her 4-year-old son on the Portuguese island of Madeira and exhibits her art in 2 hip galleries in Funchal and Calheta, which are located directly by the sea.

With the black sand of Madeira came a new inspiration for the sea and her art, making each work of art unique. With her art, Carolina wants to create a feeling of vacation in everyone and bring deep and carefree relaxation for the seconds or minutes of looking at her pictures.

Like a window from which you look out and see the sea.

The waves are intended to trigger feelings of freedom and security, so that the viewer pauses to organize his thoughts and stops in the here and now in order to find himself and arrive. So you could also speak of a meditative experience to calm down and escape from everyday life.

She got her stage name “Carolina Pixel” from two French hikers when they made a pilgrimage together along the Way of St. James in Spain. Carolina wandered so far out that the two of them could only see her as a pixel on the horizon.
